SPECIAL ALERT ! - READ AND CIRCULATE

SPECIAL ALERT!

I got this message from www.Naijafriends.com , a Nigerian social networking site and I decided to post on my blog and share it with friends, this will go a long way in creating awareness and also alert Nigerians on this dangerous substance in circulation and help them take precautions to avoid such incidents. This incident took place on the 10 of January 2011 read below for full details as stated on www.naijafriends.com site.

As Quoted   By Janymma

This was forwarded to me by a friend.
I found it educative please
 read and take precaution.

First, join me in praising God that I am alive to tell this story; it could have been something else if not for HIS grace. That I am able to send this email within 24 hours after the incident shows that I am well to the glory of God. Yesterday, 10 January, 2011 at about 10 pm, a Nurse unsealed a brand new bottle of "LAXAN LACTULOSE" and gave me 15 ml to drink, which I did. The drug turned out to be "bleaching liquid" in taste and I had to immediately vomit it out, but not without some damage to my tongue, throat, stomach and discomfort all night.

The following morning, formal report was made by the hospital to the manufacturers and the batch of the drug had to be withdrawn from circulation immediately. As I related the sad experience with another patient in the morning, he told me of a driver who was given an eye drop in a reputable Nigerian Clinic, which he applied, but it turned out to be raw acid. The driver lost his two eyes in the process despite all efforts to save the eyes thereafter.

The Lessons And Precautions: Always taste liquid drugs first and observe for few seconds, before swallowing the full dosage.

Mothers must always taste all syrups for their children and observe for few seconds before administering on children.

All eye, Nasal and Ear drops should be tested at the back of the hand and observed for few seconds before applying to the eyes, nostrils, and ears.

To God be the glory and please pass this precautionary information and share the experience with others. It could be a saving grace.

THANK YOU.
Below are some few comments that caught my attention, I decided to add them below my post and I also decided to include the names of those who made those comments.

Yeah I worked in a pharmaceutical company, and i know what she is talking about. My former Bose called the drugs the company produce as poisons and he doesn't take them, cos he knows the standard of quality control is extremely low. be careful fellows!!

Thank God you are alive and thanks for this information. Infact the issue of fake and adulterated drugs is worrisome in Nigeria. Credit should be given to Dora Akunyili for her achievement during her period as the NAFDAC head. One wonders how desperate people can be to make money. Government has a responsibility of protecting lives of its citizens but it seems Nigerian government is not doing enough in this regard. Multinational corporations are culpable too. The case of ":my pikin" and Pfizer controversial vaccine in Kano are cases in point. Nigerian government should better wake up now.
